Fossils and artefacts are not always found by scientists or archaeologists. Often they’re found by farmers, bushwalkers, or miners. But, the information about what to do is incredibly vague. Here I chat about my Found a Fossil project which aims to make this information clearer.

To promote my Found a Fossil project to farmers and others in working on the land who may find heritage material, I had a chat to the team at Outback Magazine to encourage people to participate in the research!

‘Reclaim, Restore, Revolutionise’ - National Student Archaeology Conference 2023
This annual conference provides a great opportunity for archaeology students around Australia to share their research. Presenting both a poster and a 20-minute talk (and winning best paper!), I was able to discuss the findings from my Found a Fossil project, and showcase the many opportunities available to students studying archaeology.
Student Leadership Forum
Where can a Bachelor of Science take you? What about studying archaeology? I was invited to give a keynote address to over 100 Year 12 students about my journey at Macquarie University, and show that life is what you make it, how we can figure out what we love to do, and how students can have the adventure of a lifetime at university.

Australian Museums & Galleries Association Conference
At the Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) Conference I was able to discuss the role of museums in the future of heritage protection, through research I completed as part of the Found a Fossil project.

Australian Archaeological Association Conference
The 2022 AAA Conference was held in Darwin, where I was able to present the results from the Found a Fossil survey, and outline solutions for future heritage protections in Australia.

Australian Heritage Festival - Student Training project
What diseases did the dinosaurs suffer from? How did the Australian megafauna go extinct? What should YOU do if you ever discover a fossil or Indigenous artefact? This online seminar was held exclusively for the Australian Heritage Festival!

GSA Earth Science Student Symposia
The GSA Earth Science Student Symposia (GESSS) is a national program run by the Geological Society of Australia. This virtual conference allows students from around the country to share their research and fieldwork experiences, connecting with academics from many other institutions and showcasing the amazing variety of earth sciences careers.
