The Science Experience - Macquarie University

📍Macquarie University

📅 October 2023

The Science Experience is a fun 3 days of science activities for Year 9 and 10 students. The program provides information about further studies in science, technology and engineering. It highlights the wide range of careers that allow students to pursue their interest and abilities in the sciences.

I was invited to give the keynote speech for this event, called ‘Digging Dinosaurs and Uncovering Artefacts - The Life of a Palaeontolgist and Archaeologist’. This talk showcased some of my adventures in science, from diving with sharks, to going on dinosaur digs in Canada.

I was also able to partake in the expo event, with a stall set up that provided students with an opportunity to interact and handle fossils, and find out more about the Found a Fossil project and website. This event was organised by Joanne Jamie and the National Indigenous Science Education Program.
