Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum

What is the first job you imagine when you hear ‘a job that helps people?’

Most of us will imagine jobs such as a doctor, nurse, teacher, or firefighter. But what if those jobs just aren’t for you?

Invited as a keynote speaker, I shared my experiences of working jobs not traditionally thought to be related to helping people. From swimming with sharks and ocean conservation, to inspiring the next generation of scientists through palaeontology, to starting my own business and speaking at schools, all of these adventures have the potential to help people, if you know where to look.

This talk was a great discussion of how to look outside the box for future careers, and dive into our definitions of leadership, service, and helping others.
